With just a fortnight to go to voting day, Youth Defence's new pro-life materials are being distributed the length and breadth of the country, and our 'Ask the Question' campaign is producing results. With more than an estimated 100,000 people reached so far, the response has been very positive.

"We're getting lots of calls and emails about the election. We've even got calls from Labour Party members who weren't aware that Eamon Gilmore had said he would bring in abortion-on-demand. It's great to see that even with the economic crisis, people are putting the unborn child first," said Rebecca Roughneen of Youth Defence.
Youth Defence's Election 2011 sticker is also proving a big hit. The attractive and striking sticker is for use on a car or front door, and says "You Me everybody, we're all just grown up embryos. I VOTE PRO-LIFE". It's helping to grow the message for Life during Election 2011.
If you haven't got a copy of your sticker yet call the Youth Defence office on 01 8730463.
Ms Roughneen and other Youth Defence members have taken to the road this week for a mini-Road show, in which they are lobbying politicians and the public on the important issue of life. Rebecca said, "We've already received a fantastic response from voters who are really concerned about the unborn in this election. We are very hopeful, but we need to do more on these next few weeks and all assistance is welcome."

It's all good and well putting pressure on our politicians to uphold Irelands law on abortion, however to expect them to always do so is a dangerous opinion to hold. We should be advocating that those with pro-life positions should in fact join political parties, that way our voices will be heard, instead of barking from the outside.

We've got all the parties at the door swearing they are pro-life - thanks for all the information it really helped.
