Today sees the beginning of Lent and Youth Defence are appealing for new volunteers to join their Lenten Campaign for Life. Each year the number of people joining us in these 40 days of pro-life work continues to grow. But this year with multiple threats to the right to life coming from the European court, the IFPA and our Health Minister, YD are asking you to make a special effort to join us.
Every little helps; you’ll make a real difference. Here’s how you can help.
Take Action
- We’re running three major campaigns during Lent and would love to have you on board
- Sign up to help deliver our new leaflet - Abortion never saves a mother’s life; it just kills a baby.
- Help out with our Next Generation project – recruiting, training and empowering the next generation of pro-life leaders.
- Join us in stopping embryo research in UCC
- Assist at one of YD’s weekly pro-life information stalls.
- Join us in counseling outside abortion referral agencies.
- Distribute pro-life leaflets in your neighbourhood or at your church.
- Volunteer for our busy pro-life office or for one of our schools programmes.
- Host a pro-life evening to inform your friends and family – we can provide a speaker and top-quality information.
Call the Youth Defence office on 01 8730463 for assistance with any of these suggestions.
Make Sacrifices
- Offer your Lenten sacrifices up for the protection of human life.
- Consider making a Lenten donation to our pro-life work. In these tough times, protecting the unborn child needs to remain a priority.
Pray
- Offer up Lenten prayers that the right to life of unborn children is protected in Ireland, and for mothers in crisis pregnancies.
- Ask others to join you in this Lenten Campaign of Prayer for Life - perhaps your friends, or your prayer group
