The Life Institute has said that the publication of a Bill permitting abortion on suicide grounds shows that the government "doesn't give a damn for the evidence" and is "blinded by arrogance and ideology" on the issue.
"An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, has chosen to completely ignore the medical evidence presented at two Oireachtas Committee hearings on abortion," said Niamh Uí Bhriain of the Life Institute.

"He is simply disregarding the evidence of Obstetricians who say they have serious moral and ethical concerns with ending the life of an unborn baby where a mother says she is suicidal," she pointed out.
"And he is ignoring the evidence of our leading psychiatrists who not only say that abortion does not treat suicidality, but have told the government that this Bill would help to normalise suicide."
The actions of the government were "feckless, irresponsible and cold-hearted", she added, since the Bill allowed for abortion without time limits.
"Minister James Reilly is anxious to downplay the absence of time limits, but his only alternative is to have doctors prematurely deliver a physically healthy baby, being born to a physically healthy mother. That baby will then suffer all the possible consequences of prematurity including brain damage, blindness, and even death. This is horrific," said the Life Institute spokeswoman.
Ms Ui Bhriain said that the government was "blinded by arrogance and ideology".
She also described the results of Irish Times poll as seriously skewed since the question was framed to be "misleading and to prompt a required response."
"The poll asked if people supported abortion to save the life of a mother, but clearly that's a leading question, since experts tell us that abortion is never medically necessary," she said.

I really wonder how this is really that different from Tianamen Square, and other recent incursions of communism in the west? It certainly flies in the face of equal protections, or the value of the individual.

The Book of Jeremiah in scripture.
Then the word of the Lord came to me saying "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you:
Before you were born I sanctified you:
I ordained you a prophet to the nations,
Your frame was not hidden from Me
You were made in secret, skillfully and beautiful woven:
Your in my book of records
I raise the unborn child and mother safety to our Almighty Father in Name of Jesus Amen

Are abortions routinely offered to all women having miscarriages??? I live in country where abortion is available and this is not a routine treatment for women who are miscarrying so am a bit perplexed by the Irish situation I.e. suggesting abortion must be available for women having miscarriages.

Thank you YD for highlighting facts of being inhumane with no time limit in Enda Kenny pro abortion dangerous bill that he proposes to force into Ireland, and the child being left either dead or brain damaged. The other worst matter is the suicide clause with no evidence medically based. It was never a pro life bill by the hypocrite Enda Kenny leadership. Abortion is never medical treatment, doctors and scientists knows this fact.
THERE MUST BE NO-CON PROMISE of our UNBORN BABIES WHO ARE PART OF OUR HUMAN FAMILY FROM CONCEPTION TO NATURAL DEATH, the TDs, Senators must scrap the death row bill that targets unborn babies. Our taxes would be used to pay for legalized murder with the 1861 ACT repealed the offenses against the person and doctors ordered to be murders and rewarded

What teacher educated Enda Kenny to believe that one can murder defenceless unborn children?
