The Life Institute has reported that a fourth member of the 'expert group' on abortion has a connection with moves to undermine the right to life of unborn children.
The expert committee of fourteen members is to advise the government on the European Court ruling on the ABC case which was sponsored by Planned Parenthood with the intention of smashing Ireland's abortion laws.
As reported earlier in the week, three other members of group have been linked to abortion advocacy and/or to a drive to legalise embryo research.

Now investigations show that Dr Peter Boylan, an obstetrician and gynaecologist appointed to the committee, signed a public statement in 2002 which opposed outlawing abortion on the grounds of suicide.
The Life Institute and other pro-life groups had previously said that it had "serious concerns"' with an expert group on abortion established by the Irish government following the revelations.
Ms Uí Bhriain said that the largest party in government, Fine Gael, had made an election promise not to legalise abortion, and that they could not now rely on a quango to overturn that promise.
"Unfortunately, we've seen that committees like this have been used in the past to carry out a pre-ordained anti-life agenda, such as the Commission on Assisted Human Reproduction which was stacked 20:1 against the right-to-life," said the Life Institute spokeswoman. "We're writing to an Taoiseach, Enda Kenny to tell him that there are three key facts that the government's expert group on abortion cannot ignore. We also point out that at least four of the appointments give rise to serious concerns about the independence and impartiality of the expert group". "
She said the three key facts that the expert group on abortion could not ignore were:
- Abortion is never medically necessary. Expert testimony has already been given to a government committee on this issue, where leading Irish experts confirmed that interventions for conditions such as ectopic pregnancy and cancer were not considered abortion by medical professionals since the intention was never to harm the child.
- The European Court ruling places Ireland under no obligation to legalise abortion since the Irish Constitution confirms that it is the people, being sovereign, who will decide such matters. Successive opinion polls show that Ireland's ban on abortion enjoys the support of the majority of the people.
- According to the United Nations, Ireland, without recourse to abortion, is the safest place in the world for a mother to have a baby. The expert group should also recognise the undeniable scientific evidence which shows abortion produces negative mental outcomes for women.
Notes to the Reader
The Expert Group will be chaired by Mr Justice Seán Ryan and has to report back to Government within six months with options on how to implement the judgment of the European Court.
The Composition of Expert Group on Abortion is as follows;
- The Group will be chaired by Mr. Justice Seán Ryan and consist of thirteen other members;

Folks it's over, abortion is coming. Irish public had two occasions to do away with Xcase decision, they said No. Do you respect public opinion only when it suits you.That's not the way it works.

The eugenics, anti-individual, give-more-power-to-the-statists train rolls on. Individuals are no longer prized for their uniqueness and giftedness. Or as Orwell wrote, "Some are (now) more equal than others."
It truly is the height of hypocrisy to take all the rich benefits this life has to offer, while denying another.
One thing is for sure: this life is short. But don't tell the pro-abortion crowd that this ruling actually makes their own lives a little more tenuous. Euthanasia is only a few short steps from this one.
William James wrote: "There are only two tragedies in ones life. Not getting what one wants. The other, getting it." Oh, how easy it is to lose so much, especially when one can't see even a block ahead.

Sorry Frank, killing babies is not on the way in Ireland. Moreover, it is on the way out all over the world. The pro-life movement is young vibrant and actually has a future. The pro-abortion movement is old and dying out.To give you credit, you do practice what you preach: you contracept and you abort. You deny your "cause" any future. As Dr De Faoite said this is the generation that WILL end abortion.
Finally the Irish public NEVER got a chance to overturn X, only to liberalise it. And we refused. IT is the KNOWLEDGE that public opinion is against abortion that has caused once brazenly pro-abort politicians to tone down their support. Think Eamonn Gilmore, Michael D. Higgins and most recently Mick Wallace. Indeed the government recently rejected all UN requests to introduce abortion, because THEY know that the Irish people are pro-life. So whatever YOU think of public opinion is irrelevant, as long as the those in power know that is all that matters.

Sorry, a typo. I meant to say that abortion will be ended all over the world without having taken hold in Ireland.

Totally agree with Maria here - but people need to speak up and stand up with groups like youth defence.

@ Frank...A giddy young male who can hardly contain his excitement at an apparent opportunity for the multi-billion euro abortion industry to set up shop in our country...Now I wonder why that is...Hmm! As your girlfriend says to you ''calm down Frank!''...Calm down and engage your brain,its not too late to come over to the light of reason,science,morality and human goodness, you have potential to do something wonderful in your life and save the Life of an unborn baby (maybe even more than one)...just think for yourself for once instead of blindly following the official group-think (cultivated by big business, & big pharm) or your bubbling hormones that render you so excited and incoherent at the prospect of unlimited sexual encounters without consequences (that you cannot see at the moment) that you utter such obscurantist nonsense...you're a human being gifted with reason! not a pavlovian experimental subject.I wish you well on your journey into the Light my excited young friend & you have taken that first step by engaging with us here!

Maybe the reason this cttm has been chosen is because the Eu and the UN might be putting pressure behind the scenes on Irish politicans to bring in abortion? There is complete silence from all politicans and barely a word from the mushroom media?

Agree with BAMA here

The most revolutionary action which can be under taken is to have children. The family instinctively dislikes the mass-murder of innocents that is abortion. The Irish people are pro-life and love the family. We have a duty to defend the family and the unborn child. We will not be throwing in the towel?

It's beginning to look like the Catholic Church is going to lose another battle. Welcome to the 21st Century, Ireland.
