Organisers of the Rally for Life have said that the decision by the Irish media to blank the massive pro-life rally, has served to highlight the "insular and anti-life thinking dominating Irish media organs". However, Youth Defence spokeswoman, Íde Nic Mhathúna, said that the Rally was a news feature on more than 50 internet web sites and that the web was a primary source of news for a growing number of people.
"One of the upsides of the web is that it allows the good news of a hugely successful event like Saturday’s Rally for Life to be heard by enormous numbers of people across the world," said the YD spokeswoman. "Traditional media is shrinking and when we see just how biased they are on Life issues, maybe that’s no bad thing."
While local newspapers and radio stations such as Newstalk had given the Rally coverage, the largest newspapers and RTÉ refused to cover the huge turnout at the Rally. "In the unlikely event that a pro-abortion rally managed to bring 4,000-5,000 people out to march, the media coverage would have been non-stop,” said Rebecca Roughneen of the Rally for Life Committee. “It does show, however, how successful Youth Defence has been in by-passing the media and bringing pro-life information and news to the people, when huge numbers turn up for an event like this."
Ms Roughneen pointed to the Press Association’s version of the Rally, which read ‘Thousands march in pro-abortion rally’. They posted this completely fallacious story, and we had to get them to take it down and then send out another. But a huge number of international websites carried very positive reports of this tremendous rally, and it was an amazing day for Life."

Long live the new media, but may a swift death come to the old media.
I too, am tired of the bias. The March for Life in the US had very little mainstream coverage too.
