Muintir na hÉireann, is an Irish political party to speak out for unborn children, and against forced population control policies. YD are pleased to support their picket on 8 September 1994 between 1pm and 2pm outside the Dept. of Foreign Affairs, 80 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2.
Youth Defence wishes to express regret and dismay, at the decision by the Junior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Tom Kitt, to donate tax payers money to the sum of £150,000 to the United Nations Fund for Population Activities.
UNFPA is the chief organising body behind the Cairo Conference which is being attended by Tom Kitt and our Minister for Health, Brendan Howlin. UNFPA also funds implementation of brutal and coercive population control policies in China, where forced sterilisations and abortions are the norm.
The Cairo Draft Document, is an example of an attempt to force Western cultures and values on Third World countries, with no regard for differing ethnic traditions or religious beliefs. A new breed of dictators are to be seen at Cairo, using groundless arguments and trumped up statistics to bully and con Third World countries, by controlling the size of their families.
Abortion is, of course, included in determining "reproductive health" for Third World women.
Youth Defence believes that the fact that our Government would financially support UNFPA, indicates that it also lends it's support to UNFPA's anti-life, anti-family policies.
