Youth Defence will tomorrow (Friday 27th March) present its submission to the Oireachtas Committee formulating the Green Paper on abortion.
In line with the views held by the vast majority of the Irish people the submission will be strongly urging the government that the only practical, as well as the only civilised, solution to the current controversy is a clear and unambiguous referendum to completely prohibit abortion in all circumstances.
It is our firm belief that without this prohibition there will be future widespread civil unrest.
Youth Defence are presenting both medical and legal evidence that the rights of mother and child can be catered for in a simple straightforward referendum and have included a viable wording to achieve that purpose.
We will be holding a press conference in the Earl of Kildare Hotel at 11am this Friday (27th March) where the text of our detailed submission will be available and spokespersons for the organisation will also be there to answer any questions which may arise.
