PR: Picket on Fianna Fail Ard Fheis

In view of the fact that the abortion issues will be discussed at this Ard Fheis and that the vast majority of Irish people want a referendum giving them an opportunity to totally prohibit abortion, Youth Defence will be staging a picket outside the R.D.S. where we will be pressing the delegates strongly that Fianna Fail should honour the promises made in the last general election.
The Irish people have both a Constitutional and a democratic right to a proper Pro-Life referendum. However, the Taoiseach's recent comments seem to suggest that he favours some form of limited abortion. This is not acceptable to the Irish people and we believe that it will not be acceptable to the vast majority of delegates. The debate should be conducted freely and fairly in an informed atmosphere so we will be giving information to the delegates as they enter, particularly on the horrific nature of the abortion practise itself, and also the fact that abortion is never necessary to save the lives of pregnant women.
The picket will begin a 1 p.m. and continue for approximately two hours.
